Baw Baw Shire's place names advisory committee is seeking more people to help uncover notable womens' names for future projects in the region.
Community members can submit an expression of interest to join the place names advisory committee until Monday, February 13 2023 at 5pm.
The expression should outline the applicant's wishes to join the committee and what skills or perspectives they can offer.
Community members also can submit names they believe should be used in the naming of parks, reserves, streets, localities and other public features. The initiative is intended to help council address the disparity between male and female-named features and set aside for future projects.
