A building façade collapse in Warragul has prompted the closure of about 10 carparks, pedestrian crossing and sections of nearby footpath.
A section of the façade collapsed onto a verandah over the weekend, resulting in the Victoria St closures. Temporary fencing has been installed and the nearby traffic light pedestrian crossing closed.
Baw Baw Shire Council was alerted to the collapse late on Sunday and reported its building compliance team was working with the body corporate of the building to arrange structural integrity tests.
Whilst aiming to reopen the carparks and footpath as quickly as possible, council said the section would need to be assessed and declared safe before this could be done.
