Community members have an opportunity to share their thoughts on barriers facing women in sport as well as future sporting pavilion developments at drop-in sessions in Warragul and Drouin next week.
Baw Baw Shire will host sessions at The Goods Shed in Warragul on Monday and Drouin Customer Service Centre on Wednesday. Both will run from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
The sessions follow council releasing its draft Fair Access Policy and draft Sports Pavilion Design and Development Policy for community feedback.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe encouraged local sporting groups to view the two policies and take up the opportunity to share their thoughts and views.
"The Fair Access Policy aims to eliminate the systemic causes of gender inequality, and I think that local sport provides a big opportunity for us to make some advancements in this space," Cr McCabe said.
The Sports Pavilion Design and Development Policy will address design standards, funding options and prioritisation criteria to provide council and the community with a structured framework to guide future pavilion projects and upgrades to existing sporting pavilions.
If you are unable to attend the drop-in sessions, the two draft policies can be viewed at bawbawconnect.com.au/sports-pavilion-policies and feedback is open until Friday, March 15 at 5pm.
