Charges for police assault

A female police officer was allegedly elbowed in the face during an arrest at Warragul Railway Station on Tuesday.
Police were called to the station after a V/Line train conductor reported being verbally abused and threatened.
They allege the man complied with directions to leave the train but refused to identify himself.
Police said the man became combative when placed under arrest and capsicum spray was deployed. Police allege the man swung an elbow which hit the female officer's face, resulting in head injuries. He was then tasered and arrested.
The man was taken to Warragul Police Station to be interviewed. He was charged with assaulting an emergency worker.
