A car stolen from a Warragul carpark was involved in a police pursuit before being dumped in Dandenong.
Police said a silver 2015 Holden Commodore was stolen from the upper level of the Coles carpark in Palmerston St last Tuesday. It is believed the theft occurred between 1pm and 5pm.
The car was locked and the owner still had the keys.
Police allege the vehicle was involved in a short pursuit after being seen travelling on Eastlink by a Nunawading patrol unit on Thursday.
Stop sticks were unsuccessfully deployed and the Airwing involved. It is believed a male driver was the sole occupant.
The vehicle was later located in the Dandenong Plaza carpark with the driver's door left open.
Police are investigating if the theft was linked to a similar incident at Warragul Country Club on Wednesday.

In an unrelated incident, a white 2012 Toyota Landcruiser was stolen from Highvale Rise, Warragul between Thursday and Saturday.
The vehicle, with registration plates "YWK 654", had been parked outside a residential address.
It was locked and the owner still had the keys.
The stolen vehicle was observed in the Bunyip State Forest but was moved before police arrived. The vehicle has not been recovered.
