Cardinia Australia Day awards open

Nominations are now open for next year's Cardinia Shire Australia Day awards.
The closing date is November 4.
Awards will be made in four categories; citizen of the year, young citizen, senior citizen and community event of the year.
Cardinia council is encouraging community members to nominate deserving local volunteers and outstanding community events.
Nominees must be Australian citizens that work, live or study in the shire.
The young citizen of the year award is open for those aged 25 or under on January 26 next year and senior citizen award eligibility is aged 70 years or above.
Community events must have been held in Cardinia Shire between November last year and next November or hosted online by a not-for-profit organisation based in the shire.
