Acoustic music for all on Friday night

"You don't have to be able to sing!" is the message from organisers of the monthly Acoustic Unplugged music sessions.
Ahead of the next session on Friday night at the Warragul Senior Citizens Centre, organisers have moved to correct opinions that Acoustic Unplugged is only for people who sing and play instruments.
One of the organisers Ian Ferris said, while it's true the nights were more of a music sharing experience, some come to simply enjoy the wide variety of music on offer.

"Even if you don't believe you are a singer, there are many opportunities to join in as part of the audience when you recognise a song you like, and most performers would encourage it," Mr Ferris said.
"Acoustic is a broad umbrella, and many styles of music fit the category," he added. "In fact, the variety is something many talk about after their first visit."
In keeping Acoustic Unplugged as a low-cost community event, entry is just $2.50 to cover a supper of interval of tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes.
The sessions are run in a friendly atmosphere, with music collaborations starting to develop.
If you'd like to become involved, why not come along? Music starts at 7pm and the nights conclude at about 11pm. Enter via Barkly St.
"Acoustic Unplugged" runs on the second Friday of each month. For further information, call 0491 139 980.
