The state government has delivered on its promise of $100,000 to Olivia's Place to help support families through pregnancy and the early stages of parenting.
Olivia's Place, that was established in Warragul but now located in larger premises at Drouin, also provides essential items such as prams, cots, car seats, maternity clothes and nappies to families experiencing financial hardship.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said the $100,000, an election promise last year, had now been delivered to support the organisation to continue to support new mothers and families and reach more families.
Ms Shing said new parenting could be tough, and groups such as Olivia's Place were extremely important to help families get the support they need.
She said the government was also boosting universal maternal and child health hours, building new early parenting centres and making kindergarten free across the state.
Further good news for Olivia's Place was recently reaching its donations target of $5000 that attracted a matching contribution from a generous anonymous donor. And, its Christmas appeal raised almost $18,000.
