Woman charged with theft of Anzac money

Police have charged a 30-year-old Drouin woman with theft after she allegedly stole an RSL Anzac Appeal donation box last week.
CCTV footage from the Warragul Club Hotel captured a woman entering the premises on April 25 at 7.30pm, wrapping the donation box in a jumper and leaving.
The woman was wearing black pants and a grey hoodie, that was pulled over her head.
Senior constable Ferguson-Scanlon used Baw Baw Police's Eyewatch Facebook page to appeal for public assistance on Friday night.
Police said valuable public assistance led members to identify the accused and execute a warrant at a property in Drouin on Sunday.
The woman was arrested and charged with theft and the donation box was recovered. She has been banned from attending licenced premises in Baw Baw.
She has been bailed and will face Latrobe Valley Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police said they were thankful to community members who provided information that led to the arrest.
Donations made to RSL branches through donation boxes are used to support veterans.
