Police are warning residents in rural areas to be diligent in locking up their belongings after a series of incidents at rural properties last week.
On Saturday, about $7000 worth of tools, including a Makita Chainsaw were stolen from a residential property in Neerim South.
Police said the theft occurred between 11pm on Saturday and 2.30am Sunday.
The property was unoccupied at the time of the burglary and offenders allegedly entered by breaking a window.
A two-litre bottle of Pepsi and a carton of milk also were stolen.
Earlier that day, two properties in Torwood were targeted and another in Lardner.
At 10am a resident of a rural property on Torwood-Topiram Rd, Torwood was packing a white Toyota Landcruiser ute for a trip.
At about 10.30am the person left the car unoccupied, and shortly after the owner heard a noise, returning to find the car was gone.
The vehicle has not yet been recovered.
Between 9am and 1pm also on saturday, another property on Torwood-Topiram Rd was allegedly targeted by offenders.
Police said the offenders entered the property through a garage and rummaged through the house, removing money, jewellery, car keys and other items.
A white Toyota Hilux also was stolen from a property in Lardner between 5pm Friday and 11am on Saturday after offenders forced entry to a home.
Police allege offenders entered a lounge room and removed a laptop, jewellery, money and car keys - which were used to take the Hilux.
Police believe the Lardner incident could be connected with the burglary and car theft in Torwood.
