Presents stolen in crime spree

A bag of children's Christmas presents was amongst items targeted in a crime spree across Trafalgar and Yarragon on Saturday night.
Baw Baw CIU detectives are seeking community assistance, specifically any CCTV, as they investigate seven incidents reported on the night.
The crime spree was labelled quite unusual for the two towns.
The mix of incidents ranged from theft of a motorbike to stealing Christmas fairy lights.
Detectives reported a black Honda 450 motorcycle was stolen from North Canal Rd in Trafalgar, whilst Christmas lights were stolen from a property in Thorpdale-Trafalgar Rd in Trafalgar.
Also in Trafalgar, a black handbag was stolen from a vehicle in Waterloo Rd. A front passenger side window was smashed to gain access.
Again in Trafalgar, keys to a vehicle were taken from a possibly unlocked vehicle in Chapmans Rd.
In Yarragon, a pair of binoculars was stolen from a possibly unlocked vehicle in Loch St and three offenders were captured on CCTV trying to open the doors of a vehicle in Applebox Cres.
In nearby Silvertop Drv, a plastic bag containing children's Christmas presents was taken from a possibly unlocked vehicle.
However, detectives said the offender appeared to have had a change of heart, with the presents left in a front garden.
Anyone with information that may assist Baw Baw CIU is asked to contact detective leading senior constable Kate Gardner at Warragul Police Station on 5622 7111.
