A white Toyota Hilux was discovered smouldering on Thursday by an off-duty CFA member.
The member saw the vehicle in Walhalla at 8.55am and reported the incident to emergency services. The vehicle had no registration plates and police discovered evidence of a potential collision with an embankment nearby.
Police are currently investigating who owns the vehicle.
