What improvements are needed at Garfield Skate Park?
This is the question being posed at the skate park today (Tuesday) between 3.15pm and 4.15pm to allow local residents input on a landscape improvement project.
Depending on community preferences, the project may include new seating, a shelter, bins and improved pathways.
Cardinia Shire mayor Tammy Radford encouraged community members to provide feedback on concept design, proposed landscaping and park furniture. The improvements will be funded as part of council's capital works program.
"By improving the area surrounding the Garfield Skate Park, we hope to see an increase in the use and enjoyment of this facility," Cr Radford said. "This supports the wellbeing of our community and local park users, visitors to the skate park, and the sporting groups who use the recreation reserve and facilities."
Bunyip ward councillor Graeme Moore said the community's input would help ensure the project reflects community needs, wants and expectations.
"There will be pop ups in the Garfield Skate Park to capture user experience perspectives," Cr Moore said. "We're committed to listening to our community and working together to make our shire an even better place to live, work and play."
If you cannot attend the skate park today, provide feedback online, in person or via post before Sunday, April 23 at 5pm.
