Police thank community
Police have thanked and reassured the community after high profile incidents unfolded in the local area, including the Warragul central business district, in recent weeks.
In a social media post, Baw Baw police acting inspector Paula Linford said "your police have been working very hard to investigate and identify the suspects involved".
"I want to assure you that multiple people have been charged with offences including assaults, thefts, criminal damages and a string of burglaries on sheds," act insp Linford said. "These people are now all before the courts."
The incidents included an assault and armed robbery in Smith and Palmerston Sts on Tuesday, November 4.
She thanked community members who had called the police station, dropped in or provided details to Crime Stoppers.
"The information provided to police has been so valuable in holding these offenders to account," she said.
Victoria Police also has released the findings of this year's community sentiment survey.
They thanked those who completed the survey, with more than 7600 responses helping to identify the issues that matter most to individuals and communities.
Key issues identified in the Baw Baw, Bass Coast and Latrobe areas were: safety of property and possessions, safety in public places, and drugs and alcohol related issues.
