Not sure about what he is about to do, Rafferty Pyle waits anxiously for hairdresser Pep Salce to start cutting while classmate Abigail McDonald (left) knows exactly what is going through his mind. Abigail last month cut her long hair for the World’s Greatest Shave, raising more than $2300.

It’s been more than two years in the making and Rafferty Pyle’s initial reaction was “regret” when he shaved his head in front of classmates on Wednesday.

Rafferty didn’t really regret his commitment to the World’s Greatest Shave, but he was instantly missing the long mullet he had been growing since 2019.

And at just 10-years-old, his commitment to the cause was impressive, raising just under $5500 and donating his locks to Wigs for Kids.

“It was time for the mullet to go,” he declared. 

The Ellinbank footballer said his long mullet was getting a bit hot to handle while playing football.

Rafferty decided early on in his mullet growing fad that he would put his hair to good use and donate his long locks to the Wigs for Kids organisation.

It was just a matter of how long he would grow it before the big chop.
