Long serving staff Gai Duncan, Robyn Wright and Dr Michael Nowotny, as well as former board chairperson Christine Holland were all appointed Life Governors of West Gippsland Healthcare Group at the recent annual general meeting.
Life Governors are appointed for meritorious service to the organisation recognising a "truly outstanding commitment to the WGHG over a long period of time."
Gai Duncan and Robyn Wright have both been part of the hospital's nursing staff for 33 and 35 years respectively.
Dr Nowotny, an associate professor in paediatrics, played an integral role in growing regional paediatric services and paediatric training in the region.
Acknowledging Ms Holland's nine year's maximum service to the board, she was described as giving steadfast dedication and support to the hospital and the community.
