Fatal collision at Darnum

A woman has died and others were injured in collision at Darnum this morning involving four cars and a truck. 
Traffic has been diverted while emergency services attend the scene and there are significant delays on the Princes Fwy eastbound and westbound. 
The collision occurred in the westbound lanes of the Princes Fwy, approaching the Bona Vista exit around 8.40am. 
The female driver of one of the vehicles was air-lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Her front-seat passenger, a woman who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
A passenger in the rear of the car, a teenage girl, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Two women in a second car were assessed at the scene by paramedics.
A woman, the driver of a third car was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A fourth driver received minor injuries in the collision.
The truck driver is assisting police with inquiries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are at the scene to investigate the cause of the collision.
