Three new councillors have been elected to Baw Baw Shire Council.
Results announced this morning showed Jazmin Tauru elected to Central Ward while Ben Lucas and Annemarie McCabe have been elected to the West Ward.
Only one of the seven sitting councillors was not re-elected, with Keith Cook defeated in the West Ward.
It was a close call in the Central Ward with only 58 primary votes separating sitting councillor Joe Gauci and Wayne Farnham. But after the allocation of votes and preferences under the proportional counting system, Mr Gauci was elected.
He will join immediate past mayor Danny Goss who was re-elected and Ms Tauru to represent the Central Ward. Ms Tauru is the youngest ever person to be elected to Baw Baw Shire.
The East Ward councillors remain unchanged with sitting councillors Michael Leaney, Peter Kostos and Darren Wallace all re-elected.
In the West ward, sitting councillor Tricia Jones was re-elected to join Mr Lucas and Ms McCabe. The poll will be formally declared at noon today.
