A Warragul girl has cut her long locks to help brighten the lives of those with cancer.
Dulja Gangodawila, age seven, grew her hair for two-and-a-half years specifically for the cause.
With her hair well down her back, Dulja’s visit to a Drouin salon before lockdown produced about 10 braids for “Sustainable Salons”. Her hair will be donated to charities who make medical wigs for those with cancer or alopecia.
Dulja’s mum Anupama Gunasekera said a video of a girl who lost her hair during cancer treatment had inspired the St Paul’s Anglican Grammar student to grow and donate her hair.
The grade two student is enjoying her shorter hair but plans to grow and donate more hair as soon as she can.
