Life saving defibrillators have been provided in many public facilities around Drouin in recent years, many of them by the town's Rotary club.
The Drouin cemetery is the latest to benefit.
Secretary of Drouin Rotary and also chair of the cemetery trust Tim Wills said the club saw the need to have a defibrillator available at a location that is regularly attended by people from a demographic vulnerable to a heart attack, and for the volunteers that help maintain the cemetery's grounds and gardens.
Trust member and co-ordinator of the "Friends of the Cemetery" group Judy Bibby said as well as being available at funerals the machine "added a layer of safety if ever needed for the volunteers that work at the cemetery on two days each month."
Secretary-manager of the cemetery Belinda Smart said the defibrillator would be kept safely in the office and would be accessible at funerals and on "Friends" days because a trust member is in attendance at those times.
