After 10 years of operation, the West Gippsland Days for Girls team is looking for someone to take over its leadership.
Currently organised by Lorraine Forsyth, the West Gippsland team is part of Days for Girls (DFG), an international charity aiming to end period poverty.
By providing reusable period products and education about menstrual cycles in third world countries, Days for Girls aims to break down the barriers women and girls face when they are menstruating.
The West Gippsland DFG team put together period product kits and sew reusable fabric pads. Over their years, the team of 28 volunteers have put together 5575 kits.
Lorraine said after her 10 years of organising the West Gippsland team, it was time to hand the responsibility over to someone new.
"I've got a great set of women behind me that help (run the West Gippsland DFG team), and I feel that it's time now to hand it over to somebody else," she said.
Lorraine said whoever took over the team leadership will require a workspace and storage facilities.
"You have to have a reasonably big space, and if you're doing sessions from your home you have to have storage space," she said.
"I'm (running sewing sessions) from my house and I'm willing for somebody to come and have a look at (the set up and storage) all as soon as possible, so they know what they're heading into."
As well as organising sewing sessions, the team leader will have other responsibilities such as ordering materials, fundraising and organising distribution of finished kits with DFG Australia.
Lorraine said she would support the person who took over the West Gippsland team until they were comfortable with the process.
"I'm prepared to help them all the way through," she said.
"I'd like to see it continued because a lot of hard work has gone into it by me and all the other women involved, it would be a shame to see it fold."
