Day 13 test before leaving quarantine

Gippsland Regional Public Health Unit has advised of changes to the way the Department of Health is communicating with primary close contacts who are required to quarantine.

If you have been tested for COVID-19 on or after day 13 of your quarantine period and receive a

negative result, you can stop quarantining immediately. You will not be contacted by the

department. Your negative test result can act as proof that you have completed your quarantine

period.

If you have not been tested for COVID-19 on or after day 13, you must get tested as soon as possible

and stay in quarantine until you have received a negative result. If you do not get tested your

quarantine period may be extended.

If you have had a new exposure to COVID-19 during your quarantine period, including being in the

same household as someone with COVID-19, stay in quarantine and await further advice.

Anyone needing further advice should call 1300 651160.

Due to the current COVID environment in Gippsland, the focus for GRPHU is case management.

The

unit is no longer managing exposure sites. Venues that are identified as an exposure site will be

liaising directly with the Health Department.

Tier one exposure sites in Gippsland will be published on the GRPHU Facebook page and website.

However, advice about things like exposure site cleaning, staff management and minimising risk to

public health will be managed directly by the department. Exposure site venues should

contact the COVID Hotline for information on 1800 675398.
