Police tasered a 33-year-old Longwarry man last week after he answered the door in possession of an activated chainsaw.
A police unit attended the man's residence in Longwarry on Monday, April 17 at 11.45pm after receiving a noise complaint for allegedly excessively loud music.
Police said the man appeared to be intoxicated and greeted police with a running chainsaw in hand, after which additional police units were called.
The man allegedly entered his garage via an internal door before brandishing the running chainsaw at police.
Police tasered the man, which caused him to drop the chainsaw and allowed police to arrest the man.
He was charged with indictable assault on police and will face Latrobe Valley Magistrate's Court at a later date.
