Multiple youths are believed to be involved in the theft of two cars from a Warragul residence on Friday night.
The young offenders allegedly entered the Watt St home just before midnight and stole two sets of car keys while the occupants were asleep.
Police said the occupants woke up and observed an offender driving their Toyota Prado away from the property while another offender struggled to put their Mercedes sedan in reverse, before the two cars drove away together.
The Mercedes was located by the victims using a tracking device.
Police observed the Mercedes driving recklessly in Drouin, causing vehicle tyres to be shredded, and it was eventually located abandoned in McClure St, Drouin.
The Toyota Prado was followed by police towards the Latrobe Valley.
Stop sticks were set up by police in Traralgon, but were unnecessary when the 14-year-old driver stopped the vehicle and gave himself up to police.
The incident is still being investigated.
