Apply now for sports grants

Grassroots sport and receation clubs in Gippsland are being urged to apply as soon as possible for the latest round of state government grants.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said the Sporting Grants Club Grants program was now open for applications.
Up to $1000 can be sought towards the cost of new uniforms and equipment, $2000 for training programs for coaches, officials and volunteers and up to $5000 to improve club operational effectiveness.
Ms Shing said the fund supported community sports clubs get back on their feet, increase teams and player numbers and help people to get active and involved in local sport.
