Pharaoh's Secret Angels has donated a $33,500 to support cancer care at West Gippsland Hospital.
The volunteer fundraising group presented the cheque in honour of their friend Liza Pharaoh, who died from cancer.
Despite the continuing challenges brought on by the pandemic the Pharaoh's Secret Angels continued to fundraise tirelessly.
Pharaoh's Secret Angels president Natasha Davis said the money was from a number of fundraising activities including The Liza Pharaoh Memorial Game, a movie night, Bogan Bingo, market stalls, Geoff Curley's Big Chop and largely, sales from a cookbook called 'No Ordinary Girl' inspired by Liza.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group acting chief executive officer Audra Fenton thanked the group for the donation.
"This donation is welcomed by our hospital's oncology unit and will be used to support community members on their cancer journey."
"The oncology team work tirelessly to provide the best possible care for patients and appreciate the efforts of Pharaoh's Secret Angels in their fundraising and for making this generous donation," she said.
"On behalf of the oncology unit staff and patients, I thank Pharaoh's Secret Angels volunteers and people in the community who supported their fundraising activities."
Ms Davis said the fundraising group is preparing to do more.
"We are beyond grateful for our wonderful community's generosity and we look forward to sharing with you all some exciting upcoming events."
