Young performers excelled during Chairo Christian School’s first middle school production of “Pinocchio” at the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
The recent production was a wonderful way for some 50 students ranging in age from year five to eight to take to the stage. The singing, dancing and acting on display was enjoyable and fun to watch.
Supporting the students were amazing set, props and costumes.
Jacob Holmes showed wonderful talent in the leading role of Pinocchio. Tayah Webb confidently portrayed Conscience whilst Tessa Martin was strong as Blue Fairy.
Skye Trotter-Wilson as Fox and Hannah Harris as Cat rate a mention for their comic scene as does Darcy Lewis who grew in confidence as Geppeto.
A favourite for many in the audience was the sea scene featuring many performers and the whale.
Attracting some 500 people across three shows in theatre two, “Pinocchio” may have been the first middle school production for Chairo but certainly not the last.
