A year-long project to develop a children’s garden at the Warragul Primary School junior campus is a step closer to completion following a recent tree planting day.

The High 5s children garden project is led by a parent group, including Kim Murfet and Gabe Marsden who have offered specialist landscaping knowledge to the children.

Many trees and plants were planted in the new garden that has involved parents and students working together.

It adds to the wooden bridge over a dry river bed, a wooden dog placed near the gate to welcome the students as well as the shop front and platform built by the Men’s Shed members for the children to play on.

Parents have also built a pergola in the garden and a sandpit is the only major addition yet to be completed.
