Future recreation developments valued at $70 million across four new precincts have been endorsed by Baw Baw Shire.
But, the plans are only concepts within a sporting reserves masterplan and dependent on future funding opportunities.
Sporting hubs, including competition and training facilities, as well as pavilions will be created in the masterplans that identify future recreation precincts in Drouin, Lillico and Warragul.
The four precincts, all identified within the Warragul and Drouin precinct structure plans, include McGlone and Weebar Rds in Drouin; Dollarburn Rd in Warragul and Lillico Rd, Lillico.
A fifth site, a 6.75 hectare site adjacent to the Spring Creek waterway, will be subject to a further report.
A report to council said the masterplans "reflect the projected sporting needs that cannot be accommodated at existing sites."
The five identified sites are currently in private ownership and used as farm land or residential acreage.
The sites include:
• McGlone sporting reserve – 6.16 hectares in McGlone Rd, Drouin incorporating a senior oval, two netball courts, pavilion and changerooms, senior and junior pump track, four synthetic enclosed cricket practice nets, playspace and 140 car parks.
• Weebar sporting reserve – 11 hectares at the intersection of Dyall and Weebar Rds, Drouin featuring two ovals, four synthetic enclosed cricket practice nets and multi-use training facilities, six netball courts, multi use warm up space for netball, basketball and tennis.
