The West Gippsland Hospital recently welcomed team members from Reflect Consulting for a special packing event as they helped prepare superhero-inspired medical garments for local children.
Staff from both groups came together to pack Supertee garments that will be delivered to children in the hospital, supporting young patients and their families during some of the most challenging moments of their medical journey.
Each Supertee is designed to look and feel like a superhero costume while supporting clinical care, with features that allow medical teams to access lines, tubes and monitoring equipment more easily.
For children, the garments are designed to help bring comfort, dignity and courage. For hospital teams, they provide a practical solution that supports care delivery while helping children feel less vulnerable during treatment.
Reflect has previously supported Supertee, raising money during their annual charity golf day in Drouin last year.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group chief executive officer Shannon Wight said initiatives that supported children's comfort, dignity and emotional wellbeing can make a meaningful difference to the hospital experience.
"From our perspective, initiatives such as Supertee contribute positively to both patient wellbeing and the efficiency of care delivery. The ability to provide children with clothing that maintains their dignity while supporting clinical requirements is highly beneficial in a hospital environment."
"We love our partnership with Supertee," said Reflect's Pete Smith.
"It is a great cause that is close to the hearts of the Reflect team. We are grateful for all those who have supported our efforts to get Supertees to every kid in West Gippsland Hospital who needs one."
Reflect's next charity golf event will take place in November and will aim to raise $20,000 to ensure West Gippsland Hospital has a 12-month supply of Supertees.
