New season for Baw Baw veterans

All the pre-season training has been done, and this coming weekend Baw Baw Veterans Cricket Club will take to the field for the start of season 2026/2027.

The first of 16 games, which make up the season, will be at Bellbird Park, where Baw Baw will welcome the Mornington team.

As always, the club welcomes new players so anyone interested in having a hit should go along on Sunday. The game starts at 11am.

Masters Cricket Victoria will host two National Championships held in Gippsland later in the season. Masters Cricket Victoria will be hosting teams from each state as well as teams from New Zealand in the Over 60's division in the Latrobe Valley in November and in the Over 55's division in the Sale/Maffra area in December.

Baw Baw also is aiming to establish an Over 50s team in the club for season 2027/2028 and beyond. Contact has already been made with all clubs in the WDCA seeking eligible players to join.

Games are all played on a Sunday during the season, allowing players to continue playing Saturday cricket for their WDCA club, whilst allowing the transition to playing with and against players of their own age.
