Developer pays for intersection

The developer will bear the cost of a new intersection required for a housing development off Tarwin St in Warragul.
Baw Baw Shire chief executive officer Mark Dupe said the works would be undertaken "at no cost to council."
Mr Dupe was addressing a series of questions posed by resident Kerry Elliott about the housing development on the corner of Tarwin St and Princes Way.
A new road - listed as Trailwater Crt on the Waterford Rise website - will need to be constructed off Tarwin St to cater for the development adjoining Strahan Park.
Ms Elliott asked if the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) was consulted, had the intersection been designed and the cost.
Mr Dupe said DTP had no objection to the application for the site at 51 Tarwin St within the general residential zone, saying it didn't fall within the Warragul PSP.
He said the Sutton-Tarwin Sts intersection as well as Pharaohs-Longview Rds intersection were still in the design phase and due for completion early next year.
The new intersection construction was a condition of the planning permit and "tied to the development progress", he said.
Ms Elliott also posed a question about boundary fences and increased stormwater.
Mr Dupe said Waterford Rise had been in development since 2008 and any new requirements of the planning scheme couldn't be retrospectively applied.
He said the site was anticipated in the design of the network of basins across Warragul as shows by its inclusion within the Warragul Development Contributions Plan.
