Ladder shuffle after final round

The second versus third clash between Longwarry and Ellinbank did not play out as many would have expected, with an under resourced Longwarry going down by 21 goals.
Longwarry knew they were facing a tough one with three key players missing. The home team began strong and trailed by two goals at quarter time and seven by the major break.
The Crows' defenders took some fantastic rebounds and worked hard to limit Ellinbank's opportunities, while the attackers did a great job maintaining control and working the ball into the goal ring.
While the game was still within reach, the second half saw Ellinbank's experience, skill and extra numbers proved vital and they were able to get the better of the home side.
Ellinbank delivered a great game to close out the home and away season.
With a strong physical encounter the last time Nilma Darnum and Bunyip met, the Bombers were ready and prepared for a fight until the end for the last game of the season.
Bunyip jumped out of the blocks early capitalising on a few mistakes but Nilma Darnum were quick to regroup and rein it back in.
The home team used the final home and away game to showcase young gun Mia Tweddle's versatility in the goal ring and it proved a game changer in getting the ball into tall goal shooter Hayley Purcell under the post.
Some great defensive pressure provided Nilma Darnum with turnovers to capitalise on and with the perfect finish to coach Rach Chandler's career on the line, the girls fought hard and were able to send her into retirement with a bang getting the win by two goals.
Yarragon also finished the season on a high with an intense 50 to 41 win over Nyora, with the game going back and forth before Yarragon found another gear to secure the victory.
The result knocked Nyora out of finals contention and saw Poowong claim fifth position.
Evelyn Armstrong and Charlotte Kemp were standouts with Evelyn exploding into centre in the final quarter and having an immediate impact to help secure the win.
While Yarragon narrowly missed out on finals, three consecutive wins to close out the season was a fantastic way to finish the year.
The first time Poowong and Catani met this season, the game ended in a draw. But, determined for a more definitive result this time round and with a lot to prove to make finals, Poowong came out strong from the first quarter.
Poowong came away with a strong 16 goal win over Catani after controlling most of the game.
The win, and results for the final round of the home and away season have rolled in Poowong's favour, meaning they are finals bound in fifth position.
Neerim South completed its season with an unblemished record, going through undefeated and sitting on top of the ladder with a week off heading into finals action.
Despite all efforts by Buln Buln to reduce the margin right from the first whistle, the dominance of Neerim South all year around the court again showed.
A polished team effort by the reigning premiers saw them stretch the margin each quarter to a final 19 goal win.
Despite a close first quarter, Lang Lang finished its season on a high with a strong 20 goal win over Trafalgar.
Only one goal separated the two teams at quarter time but then the home team opened the door, with a number of turnovers proving effective in the goal ring.
Both teams have struggled to get the wins on the board this season and will take a lot of learnings from their season in preparation for 2027.
