Between 9pm on Friday, August 7 and 8am on Saturday, police said offenders inflicted serious damage on the newly established courts in Bowen St.
Police believe boxcutters or a similar bladed tool were used to slash much of the turf, causing $20,000 damage.
The courts were padlocked shut at the time, and found open the next morning, with the lock missing from the scene.
