The Christmas tradition of making gingerbread houses was the focus of a special fundraising day at Ripplebrook Gardens recently, raising more than $4000 for West Gippsland Hospital's paediatrics ward.
About 120 people attended at Carla and Gavin Watkins' Ripplebrook Gardens to put their skills to work making their gingerbread treat and decorating it with offerings from the lolly table.
More than 60 Warragul and Drouin businesses donated items to assist the fundraiser through raffles and auctions.
There also was a sausage sizzle and drinks and a visit by Santa who arrived in the Tynong Fire Brigade truck.
