Hawks focus on preliminary finals

Drouin's A and B grade teams will turn their attention to preliminary finals this weekend after missing opportunities to win through to grand final appearances.
A grade: Drouin 67 lost to Moe 72
The chance to move straight through to the grand final meant stakes were high for the top two teams in the competition.
Both Moe and Drouin played high quality netball with little separating them throughout. With Moe's firepower in goals, Drouin needed to minimise their errors when in possession, especially in crucial moments.
Drouin's strong team performance and determination to win ball was outstanding, led by Ava Gaul at wing defence whose work rate was phenomenal.
Charlize Traumanis was strong under pressure at goal attack, moving well and showing plenty of creativity in her connection with Reagan Joyce at wing attack.
Drouin now take on Leongatha in the preliminary final on Saturday, knowing they will need to bring their A game to earn a place in the grand final.

B grade: Drouin 38 lost to Leongatha 51
The Hawks B grade side went down in a tough contest against an experienced Leongatha outfit.
In challenging conditions, Leongatha adapted quickly and made the most of the conditions, while the Hawks worked hard to stay in the contest. Despite a determined effort, the Hawks were unable to secure the win.
The Hawks finished strongly, putting together a good last quarter and showing plenty of fight until the final siren.
The Hawks will now turn their attention to the prelimary final, with a strong week of preparation ahead as they look to keep their season alive.

C grade: Drouin 36 lost to Traralgon 39
It wasn't Drouin's day in the semi final, going down in a hard-fought game after being up for most of the contest.
It was an intense game to watch, and the Hawks couldn't quite find our way back in the final quarter.
After a few tough games leading into finals, Drouin bounced back and played some confident netball when it mattered.
