Get involved in DCP review
A community session will be held on Friday to inform Baw Baw residents of an upcoming review of Warragul and Drouin development contribution plans.
Council is reviewing its DCPs, approved in 2015, to ensure plans reflected current growth and infrastructure needs of the two towns.
The information session will be held at Bellbird Park East Pavilion on Friday from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Residents will be able to meet council's project team, learn about the review, ask questions and understand timelines for future engagement opportunities.
Council said DCPs played a vital role in guiding how infrastructure - such as roads, drainage, community facilities and recreation spaces - were funded.
The review aims to create a clearer and more accurate framework for funding important infrastructure such as roads, drainage, open space and community buildings. It also will look at how projects are delivered and in what order.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Kate Wilson urged community members to attend Friday's session to find out more, join the conversation and get involved.
"Rapid growth in our major towns means more pressure on local infrastructure," Cr Wilson said. "The DCP review is an important piece of planning work which will help us shape how future growth is managed."
"With change comes challenges, but also great opportunity," she added. "We want to work with the community on this to ensure the best outcomes for all residents."
With DCPs incorporated into the Baw Baw Planning Scheme a decade ago, council said the review was timely and necessary with significant growth forecast.
