Police are seeking information about a Drouin man they believe is linked to an aggravated burglary in Warragul last Tuesday.
The 37-year-old man was last seen in the Whittlesea area on Wednesday.
The aggravated burglary occurred at a house in Toorak Ave at 11.30pm.
A man was captured on CCTV walking a pushbike in a park near the house at about 8.35pm. He returned on the pushbike at about 11.35pm and opened an unlocked back gate.
Police allege the man cut the electricity to turn off floodlights and dismantled a security camera before climbing on bins to gain entry via a kitchen window.
When unsuccessful, the man found another open window.
As the occupants slept, the man searched through draws in a study and found a set of keys with a garage remote. A wallet also was stolen from the kitchen.
The man walked through the backyard to the front of the property, turned away the front security camera and opened the garage door with the remote.
The victim woke to the sounds of their vehicle, a red 1997 BMW, driving away.
Police attended and located the bicycle in the park.
It is alleged the man drove the BMW to Yarragon United service station on the Princes Hwy.
They said CCTV captured him purchasing $70 of fuel.
The vehicle was involved in a petrol drive off in Whittlesea at 7.10am on Wednesday.
