Albert Street potholes filled

Potholes and further damage to Albert Street in Warragul is set to be repaired by Baw Baw Shire Council before Christmas.
Council community infrastructure director Ben Wood said council was aware of the state of the road and was undertaking works to correct the problems.
"The works, which includes filling in some of the larger holes, is already underway," Mr Wood said. "Prior to Christmas, council will also place a bitumen spray seal across the entire surface from Normanby St to Kent St and repaint all line marking. This will keep the water out of the road and prevent any further deterioration."
Frequent Albert St traveller, Warragul resident Cameron Skinner, said the large potholes on the road had impacted the way he drove.
"When the potholes weren't filled, the road was a mess," Mr Skinner said. "I'd avoid each pothole so they wouldn't do damage to my car."
Council also is currently undertaking preliminary investigations around the ground conditions, with plans for major reconstruction works in the near future.
If a member of the public comes across an area of road that needs attention, they're encouraged to use the Snap, Send, Solve app. The app sends a direct report to council for actioning, or alternatively, they can phone customer service on 5624 2411.
