Wildlife encounter captivates students

Students met some furry and scaly friends at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School's Drouin campus when they got up close with some of Australia's native animals during their incursion with Black Snake Productions.
Students from the Early Learning Centre through to year five were introduced to a range of native animals, including a green tree frog, turtle, bettong, python and monitor lizard.
While being very brave and maintaining a high level of respect, each student was given the opportunity to touch, hold and experience the animals.
There were certainly some nerves when the snakes and spiders came out, but everyone showed great courage throughout the incursion.
The incursion allowed students to experience unique Australian animals, learn about the importance of wildlife conservation and provided educators with opportunities to further personalise learning through discussions, activities and connections to the students' classroom learning.
