Why steel tanks are often chosen in bushfire areas

For many people building in bushfire-prone areas, the conversation about water storage starts because it has to.
A planning permit, building permit or consultant's report may introduce specific water storage requirements, leaving homeowners and builders with important decisions to make.
What many people discover along the way is that a firefighting tank doesn't have to be a standalone solution that only serves one purpose.
Depending on the property and permit requirements, firefighting water storage can often be incorporated into a broader water storage plan.
Some homeowners choose to combine firefighting and household water storage within the one large tank, while others install dedicated firefighting storage alongside separate tanks for gardens, livestock or general water supply.
The key is understanding your options early and choosing a solution that works for both your permit requirements and the way you intend to use your property.
At Waterline Tanks, we've been manufacturing steel water tanks in Warragul for 35 years. During that time, we've worked with homeowners, builders and developers across Victoria, helping them find practical water storage solutions suited to their site, their requirements and their long-term needs.
Available in a wide range of sizes, colours and configurations, our tanks can be tailored to suit everything from compact residential blocks through to large rural properties.
When planned properly, a tank can do more than satisfy a requirement today. It can become part of a water storage solution that serves the property for years to come.
