Fire ready starts at home

Summer is close, and now is the time to check the fire safety gear in your home, shed, car and workplace, before you need it.

For the past 15 years, Rob Nelson has looked after the fire safety needs of Warragul and district through Fire Protection Sales & Service. Rob has now retired, and the business is in the hands of new local owner Ian Simpson who will keep providing the same reliable service & equipment that Rob's customers have always known.

A small fire can turn into a big one in seconds. The right extinguisher or fire blanket within reach gives you the best chance of stopping it early.

Some tips for summer are:
- Keep a fire blanket and extinguisher in the kitchen, and an extinguisher in the shed, Ute, tractor & caravan
- Check the gauge. If the needle isn't in the green, or the extinguisher hasn't been serviced in years, bring it in
- Test your smoke alarms & replace batteries
- Clean gutters, clear away leaves, branches and rubbish, cut back overhanging trees and keep grass short around the house and sheds
- Make a bushfire plan with your family and download the VicEmergency app
Ian can also service, test, refill and supply extinguishers, fire blankets, hose reels and hoses for homes, farms and businesses across the region.
Drop in and see Ian at Factory 8, 122 Albert Road or give him a call on 0409 970 848
