Thrilling draw amongst results

Drouin had a successful day at Morwell on Saturday with four wins, a thrilling draw in C grade and a scoring spree in the 13s.

A grade: Drouin 75 def Morwell 52
It was a slow three quarters for the Hawks who were unable to break past a double digit lead. However, heading into the fourth the Hawks knew they had more in the tank and needed to lift across the board. As a unit they did just that and ended the game with a 22 goal win.
Stacie Gardiner led from the front all game, applying lots of defensive pressure and feeding Mwai Kumwenda and Charlize Traumanis beautifully. Ella Henderson added great drive and spacing through wing attack, allowing Drouin to score quick and efficiently.

B grade: Drouin 55 def Morwell 43
The Hawks got off to a flying start, producing a big first quarter full of energy and confidence. While the Hawks lost some momentum through the middle quarters, they finished strongly with an amazing final quarter.
Chelsea deRiter was outstanding in goal keeper, producing a number of crucial intercepts at important moments to keep the Hawks in the contest. At the attacking end, Karina Healy shot accurately and confidently, providing a reliable target under pressure and rewarding the team's hard work.
The Hawks saved one of their best quarters for last. Their ability to lift when it mattered most was a great reflection of the character within the group. When the players back themselves and take risks on court, they are capable of playing fast, flowing and high-quality netball.

C grade: Drouin 30 drew with Morwell 30
It felt like finals at Morwell, with both teams producing a high-pressure contest from start to finish, adapting to each other's styles and strengths throughout the game.
In the final quarter, Drouin's defence stepped up another gear, with pressure through second phase and around the circle creating multiple turnovers and opportunities. Niki Bryce capitalised brilliantly in defence, producing countless intercepts, rebounds and forced errors. At the other end, Abbey Tyrrell stepped up in the final moments, showing strong movement at Goal Attack and confidence under the post to keep us in the contest.
A draw gives Drouin plenty to take away, now with a focus on possession netball and reading the moment under pressure.

17 and under: Drouin 38 def Morwell 23
Against an improved Morwell side the girls had a slow start to the game but with confidence and composure they adapted to different combinations and showed they can overcome adversity.
Cleo Traumanis and Fiona Nalder stepped into defence and embraced the challenge showing fantastic resilience and versatility. The win secures Drouin's place in the top five, with a possibility they could move into third place.

15 and under: Drouin 36 def Morwell 19
It was a brilliant team win for Drouin's with every line-up combining with ease. The defensive end continues to be the heart of our side, providing endless energy and opportunity. The midcourt moved strongly and creatively, with Pia Pask's versatility, vision and strong defensive work a highlight.
As the Hawks approach the end of the season, their goalers have developed a seamless connection, with Chloe Gargan's speed complementing Lara Hammond's presence under the post and Ayla Onken's strong drives.

13 and under: Drouin 28 lost to Morwell 36
The Little Hawks played their best game of the year on Saturday. Scoring a season high 28 goals and winning the third quarter by four goals was a huge achievement.
While the final scoreboard didn't fall Drouin's way, there were so many other wins to take from the game.
The girls showed great connection as a team and delivered a consistent four quarter effort.
