V/Line Cup comes to town

The footy stars of tomorrow were on display last week during the annual V/Line Cup last week in Morwell.
Some of the state's finest under 15s players all headed to Gippsland for the carnival, which pitted country football areas against one another in two divisions of boys football and one of girls footy from Monday to Wednesday.
The three Gippsland Power teams featured a host of local names as they battled sides from areas like Bendigo, Geelong and beyond.
The Gippsland division one boys team endured a difficult campaign, with an 18-point loss to South East Stingrays and a 48-point defeat to Bendigo Pioneers.
It was a different story for the Power's division two boys, who won by 33 points and 19 points over the same opposition, respectively.
The Gippsland girls split their two matches, suffering a 55-point rout against South East Stingrays before securing a thrilling two-point win over Bendigo Pioneers.
It was the first time Gippsland has hosted the V/Line Cup since 2018.
