Remembrance Day services will be conducted in a number of centres in Baw Baw Shire on Friday.
Services will be held at memorials at Warragul, Drouin, Darnum, Neerim South, Thorpdale and Trafalgar in an observance initially started to mark the end of hostilities in World War 1 and in Australia is now a national day of remembrance for the almost 103,000 Australians that have lost their lives in all wars and armed conflicts.
At Warragul on Friday the cenotaph service, at the junction of Victoria and Smith Sts will begin at 10.30am and include an address by Warragul RSL president Ben Vahland.
Smith and Victoria Sts, between Palmerston and Queen Sts, will be closed to traffic from about 10.15am to 11.20am.
At Neerim South where the service will run from 10.45am to 11.10am there will also be some traffic disruption on the approaches to the cenotaph from Main Neerim and Neerim East Rds.
Other services in the shire on Friday will be at Drouin Memorial Park in Princes Way (10.30am to 11.30am), Darnum (10.50am to 11.45am), Thorpdale cenotaph (midday to 12.30pm) and Trafalgar cenotaph (11am to 11.30am).
