A stolen Commodore was recovered in the Latrobe Valley over the weekend after being used in an attempted burglary at a Trafalgar service station.
The 2016 silver Holden was reported stolen overnight on Saturday night.
Police said it was unknown how the locked vehicle was accessed when it was stolen from a residential driveway in Chapmans Rd, Trafalgar.
The same vehicle was allegedly seen during a burglary at the Trafalgar Astron service station, where offenders used a jimmy bar to gain entry via a back roller door.
The office door of the service station was kicked in and nothing was stolen.
Both doors were damaged in the break-in, and police suspect the audible alarm scared off offenders, who left in the stolen Commodore.
The vehicle was retrieved later on Sunday in Yallourn North.
