There will be no V/Line train services for Gippsland over the next month.
And, level crossing works will impact motorists at Bunyip and Garfield.
Road coaches will replace trains between Bairnsdale and Melbourne starting tomorrow (Wednesday) and continuing until Tuesday, January 31.
Regional Rail Revival director Mark Havrluk said continuation of major work on the Metro Tunnel Project was also impacting Gippsland services, and the time would be used on significant works in Gippsland to complete upgrades upgrades at Bunyip, Longwarry, Morwell and Traralgon where second platforms and new stations were built.
He said level crossings at Hope St in Bunyip and McIntyre Rd at Garfield were also being upgraded, the deck replaced on the bridge over the Bunyip River, signalling works undertaken between Garfield and Longwarry and drainage works at Tynong and Nar Nar Goon.
Other track and infrastructure work would take place along the entire route to Bairnsdale.
Mr Havryluk said the January timing, while metro tunnel work continued, would minimise disruptions for Gippsland travellers.
He thanked them for their patience, stating the Gippsland upgrade project would deliver more frequent and reliable services for the region.
During the next month, users of the replacement coaches should allow up to 60 minutes extra travel time.
