Burglaries investigated

A church in Tarwin St, Warragul was the target of a burglary last week. Offenders reportedly forced entry through a back fence before opening a shipping container located on-site, where a Rover lawnmower was stored.

Burglaries investigated

A church in Tarwin St, Warragul was the target of a burglary last week.

Offenders reportedly forced entry through a back fence before opening a shipping container located on-site, where a Rover lawnmower was stored. The thieves left with the mower valued at $6500.

The burglary occurred between 9pm Monday, August 10 and 4pm the following day. Warragul police are reviewing CCTV and continuing inquiries.

• Warragul Regional College CCTV footage captured three youths breaking into the school last Tuesday.
At 11:15pm, two females and one male entered the school via a back door and window, using no visible force, before wandering through the building attempting to open doors. Police said the trio left empty handed towards the Warragul Leisure Centre. Police said they were treating the incident as a burglary, and investigations were ongoing
• In Yarragon, offenders targeted a home on Princes Hwy, between 3:30pm on Sunday, August 9 and 7:30am on Monday, August 10. Entry was forced through the back door using a jimmy bar or screwdriver.
Various items were taken, including a cash tin containing close to $400, while the house was left in a state of disarray.
The burglary is being investigated by Trafalgar police.
• Commercial premises also have been hit. Between 3.30pm on Sunday, August 9 and 7:30am on Monday, August 10, offenders broke into Renford Automotive at 32 Saleyards Rd, Trafalgar.
After forcing a sliding door, police allege offenders ran through the workshop opening drawers and stole an Autel diagnostic scanner valued at $10,000. Two offenders in black clothing were seen on CCTV.
Baw Baw CIU detectives are investigating.
