Police described a Warragul supermarket theft on Saturday night as brazen.
They reported a man, believed to be aged between 25 and 30-years-old, entered Coles in Palmerston St and filled a trolley with items.
It is alleged he used the trolley to smash open a security gate at about 6.15pm and ran away without payment.
Witnesses reported he departed on foot along Palmerston St towards Smith St. A police search of the area failed to locate the man.
The man was described as Caucasian, 180cm tall and with a moustache. He was wearing a black hat, black hoodie and dark pants as well as face covering and gloves.
The value of goods in the trolley is unknown.
The supermarket theft followed reports of a morning theft from Bunnings Warragul last Tuesday.
Police allege a man walked into the Hazel Drv store, grabbed several items and walked out without payment at about 8.23am.
The items included a Ryobi chainsaw, firelighter and butane gas refills.
The man was wearing a dark coloured top with white Everlast print and a black cap.
It is believe the man got into one of two vehicles travelling in convoy, a red Ford ute or grey coloured hatchback.
