Upgrades are on the way for three local dog parks and Baw Baw Shire Council is encouraging community members to have their say.
Drainage improvements and additional gravel paths are on the cards already. However, council is seeking opinions on other potential improvements that have been identified including additional seating with shelter, agility equipment and obstacles, more garden beds or multi-surfaced areas, such as sand or mulch, and separate areas for active and passive dogs.
The $370,000 dog park improvement project is part of council's capital works program and will include upgrades to Bellbird Park in Drouin, Brooker Park in Warragul, and Hollydell Park in Trafalgar.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Michael Leaney and the parks had been a huge hit since the day they opened and the project would make them even better.
"The improvements will make sure they're accessible all year round and provide additional features that will really improve the user experience," he said.
"I look forward to seeing the community's ideas come to life and I know that my golden retrievers, Tilly and Rupert, will have their tails wagging in anticipation of the projects being completed."
Before the list of works is finalised council is inviting community members to consult their furry friends and ask them what they would like to see included.
